Greek Village Move-in Guide
Learn more about our Greek Village move-in procedures and resources throughout the academic year.
Greek Village Move-in Dates
Greek Village Move-In dates and times are associated our Greek Village Opening and Closing schedule, the academic calendar, and with each chapter and/or facility. Below are the dates and times approved by house corporations and/or fraternity and sorority life.
Summer 2026 Move-in
Greek Village Apartments is the only facility to remain open during the summer.
Move-in Dates
If you are currently a resident of Greek Village Apartments, you are assigned to your same bedroom and apartment, so no move-in is necessary.
If you are moving over to Greek Village Apartments from elsewhere on campus, Greek Village Move-in takes place Thursday, May 7 – Sunday, May 10. You will be offered a move-in date and time with our team once your bedroom and apartment unit are ready.
Greek Village Check-in Appointments
Check-in for your Greek Village facility is by appointment only, and you must check-in prior to moving into your assigned room. 20-minute appointments are broken up by chapter and/or facility during the outlined move-in dates above.
You will be able to schedule your check-in appointment with us once your summer space is ready. We will contact you by phone to schedule your check-in appointment.
During your 20-minute check-in appointment, you will:
- Arrive to Greek Village Apartments
- Check-in with our team
- Unload your vehicle in the designated, temporary unloading zone (in front of the apartments, marked as “unloading zone”)
- Move your vehicle out of the unloading zone to long-term parking area (any non-reserved space in the GV lots works with your residential permit)
You aren’t expected to complete your move-in and unpack during that 20-minute period. Once you have completed these steps, it’s time to begin your move-in and unpacking process!
Preparing for Greek Village Move-in
- Be aware of what to (and what not to) bring. We want you to make your space feel like home while remaining safe, so be sure to review the Greek Village Suggested Packing List. This packing list shares prohibited items outlined in our Community Standards including but not limited to: Electric scooters/electric transportation devices, large furniture (couches, loveseats, chairs, etc…), large residential appliances, burners or hot plates, and devices producing open flames.
- Pack and prepare for a smooth move-in with stackable containers. Label each container with your last name, facility, and room number. We encourage you to limit the number of items you bring to campus. Don’t forget to pack a small moving cart or dolly to assist with your move-in. A photo ID is required for check-in, and your student ID is preferred. Your student ID will be activated at the time of your appointment to unlock your building, and depending on setup, potentially other areas of your facility, including your suite/room. We highly recommend packing into one vehicle for Move-in as unloading zones are limited. Trailers and moving vans discouraged due to limited space in unloading zones.
- Review your check-in and move-in details to ensure you arrive at the appropriate check-in location and have the identification methods required. You will be able to find all the details in our Greek Village Move-in Guide.
Steps for a smooth Check-in Appointment and Move-in
- Check-in to your Greek Village facility with your us when you arrive at your facility prior to unloading and moving-in. You will check-in with us at the Greek Village Apartments Service Desk on the 1st floor of the facility
- Unload your vehicle in the designated unloading zone. You are responsible for unloading your own vehicle as on-site staff is unable to assist in unloading or moving personal items. You are welcome to bring friends or family to assist you with this process.
- Relocate your vehicle out of the unloading zone after you are finished unloading your car by the end of your 20-minute move-in appointment. You can relocate your vehicle to longer term parking associated with your parking permit. To learn more about parking permits and permit sales, visit here. To learn more about parking at Greek Village, see here.

Preparing for Greek Village Move-in
Review our suggested Greek Village packing list for recommendations for what to bring (and not to bring) to Greek Village. Make a copy for yourself and use it to help you plan your packing.
- Learn more about your house, facility, and room before packing. What size is my mattress? What does my house look like? What bedroom furniture does my room come with? See answers to these questions on the Greek Village packing list.
- Before you go shopping, be sure to talk with your room or housemates to compare notes. Some items are better shared between roommates like coffee pots, curtains, area rugs, etc.
- Be sure to bring your photo ID with you to your check-in appointment. It’s preferred that you have your student ID with you for an efficient move-in process.
- Resident rooms, apartments, and houses are fully furnished, so leave large furniture (couches, loveseats, chairs, tables) and residential appliances (full-size refrigerators, heaters, air conditioners) at home.
Plan to pack strategically to help your move-in process run as smoothly as possible
- Pack using stackable containers, and label each container with your last name, facility, and room number. This will be extremely helpful during the move-in process to ensure that your items make it to your room.
- Prepare for summer showers by packing into plastic bins and bring along a tarp to help protect belongings from the elements if you get caught in the rain during move-in.
- Bring a small moving cart/hand-truck to assist with your unloading process.
- Consider purchasing personal property insurance to cover your student’s belongings. If you have homeowner’s insurance, your student’s belongings may already be covered.
Bring along your crew!
- In order to provide as contactless of a move-in experience as possible, staff or volunteers will not be able to assist in unloading or moving personal items
- Bring along your family and friends to help you unload your car and unpack your room. While your check-in appointment time is 20 minutes, your guests are welcome to stay throughout the day to help you move-in.
