Rush, Recruitment and Intake
Fraternities and sororities select their members through several different processes, each of which is designed to introduce potential members to the organization and its current members. Some groups host formal recruitment, some “rush” and others conduct intake. Learn more >
Fraternity Recruitment
The Interfraternity Council (IFC) at NC State runs its main recruitment process in the fall, which is called Formal Recruitment. To participate, you’ll need to register online. This process gives you the chance to meet every fraternity and figure out which one feels like the best fit for you.
In the spring, some fraternities may host informal recruitment. This is more relaxed and usually includes social and informational events where you can hang out with current members and get a feel for different chapters. Not every fraternity recruits in the spring, so fall is your best shot to explore all your options at once.. Learn more >
