Jocelyn Cardona is a native of Lincolnton, North Carolina, and proudly represents her Mexican and Colombian heritage. She is a first-generation college graduate from Appalachian State University, where she earned a double major in Global Studies and Spanish, along with a minor in Teaching English as a Second Language.
During her time at Appalachian, Jocelyn was an active member of Chi Omega, serving in several leadership roles, including Director of Programming, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Chair, and Homecoming Chair. She also contributed to campus life as an Appalachian Student Ambassador and served as Director of Public Relations in International Appalachian (INTAPP).
Following graduation, Jocelyn expanded her global experience by teaching abroad in South Korea for two years. She later continued her commitment to student success as a Next Step Adviser with AdviseNC at Duke University, where she served for two years, supporting high school students in their transition to higher education.
