Background: Shelly is a Delta Zeta from Southern Illinois University. Shelly earned her Master’s Degree from SIUC and worked at Bowling Green State University coordinating Leadership Programs, Sorority Housing and advising the NPHC for three years before joining the NC State staff in the Fall of 2001 as Associate Director of Greek Life. In July of 2013, she was appointed Interim Director of Greek Life. She was promoted to the role of Director of Greek Life in May 2014. Shelly spends her weekends traveling to campuses around the country presenting workshops on recruitment, intake, hazing and social justice. She has two girls, Emma and Reese, both active in soccer and dance. She was elected to the Executive Board for the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors for 3 terms, and served as the 2012 President.

Background: Chris is a graduate of the University of Missouri and a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. He is passionate about advancing the fraternal movement and has more than eight years of professional experience working with fraternity and sorority communities.

Background: Josh is a graduate of Western Carolina University where he joined Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. Before joining the staff at NC State he served as a national staff member for Sigma Alpha Epsilon’s Fraternity Service Center and as the Assistant Director of Residence and Greek Life at the University of Central Missouri. Josh has a passion for risk reduction and the principles of problem-solving.  He has been invited to serve as a facilitator and instructor for several national programs such as IMPACT & UIFI as well as to Headquarters’ leadership programs offered by several Inter/national fraternities and sororities. Additionally, he is a trained facilitator for the Alcohol Skills Training Program (ASTP). He has more than eight years of experience working with fraternities, sororities, and housing.

Raven Whitley

Background: Raven received her undergraduate degree from Illinois State University and received her Master of Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She joins the Fraternity and Sorority Life staff with experience working with all four councils, notably working as the advisor of the largest Interfraternity Council and fraternity & sorority community in number of chapters in the nation. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Background:  Frank received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas, Arlington, where he joined Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity.  He graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Higher Education and has worked as the Coordinator for Student Activities for Greek Life at Christopher Newport University for 2 years prior to joining the Pack.

Background: Janet graduated from the University of Texas in Austin, Phi Beta Kappa, with a degree in Linguistics. Most recently, Janet served as the House Director at Alpha Chi Omega at the Ohio State University for five years.  They initiated her into membership in 2014.  Prior to her time as a house director, she lived in Highlands, North Carolina, where she was a real estate broker.  Janet has two daughters with multiple degrees in higher education, including two from NC State.  In her spare time, Janet is involved in P.E.O. International,a philanthropic educational organization raising millions of dollars for scholarships for women’s education.

Alpha Delta Pi (H8)

Background:  Chelsea is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in 2011 with degrees in Biobehavioral Health and Health Policy and Administration. During her tenure at Penn State, she served as President of the National Panhellenic Council and as a Resident Assistant for both Gamma Phi Beta and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. In 2014, Chelsea completed her Masters of Public Health from Yale University while serving as a graduate assistant in the offices of Alcohol and Other Drug Harm Reduction Initiative and Gender and Campus Culture within the Yale Dean’s Office. Chelsea is a public health enthusiast and is coming to Raleigh from Columbia University, where she served as the Program Director for a public health pipeline program. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Educational Research and Policy Analysis at NC State University and also serves as the doctoral graduate assistant in the Division of Academic and Student Affairs.

Background: Whitney graduated from UNC – Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a minor in Creative Writing in 2009. After graduating, Whitney served two years as a college adviser for the Carolina College Advising Corps in two high schools in Davidson County, NC. Since then, she has worked in higher education specializing in financial aid administration and enrollment management for the past five years.  In 2015, she graduated from Wake Forest University with a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling.  Whitney is excited to continue her education at NC State University. She is pursuing a Ph.D. in Counseling and Counselor Education. Whitney serves as the Graduate Assistant for the Poole College of Management Career Development Center in addition to her role as a Chapter Resident Director.  She enjoys reading, watching college basketball, and trying new tasty recipes from Facebook.

Background: Drew is a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity, and a graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics. While at UF, Drew served as his chapter’s president as well as a student body senator and civic engagement ambassador. In addition to working with NC State Fraternity and Sorority Life, Drew will be serving as a Graduate Assistant for Student Activities at UNC-Chapel Hill. When not in the office or working on his Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Drew can be found in the gym, watching sports, or mentoring high school students.

Background: Christopher is a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity and graduated from NC State in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a concentration in Marketing. While at NC State, he served in various position within his fraternity’s chapter and also served as a student worker in the Department of Fraternity and Sorority Life. Since graduation Christopher has served as a Leadership Consultant and is now the Associate Director of Leadership Development for Sigma Nu Fraternity, Inc. After several years away from the City of Oaks, he is excited to be back with the Pack for his Masters of Education in Higher Education Administration.

Background: Grant graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Science in Communication in 2012. While at JMU, Grant got involved with admissions, student government, volunteering and became an initiated member of Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity. After graduating, Grant worked for Alpha Epsilon Pi Inc., first as an Educational Leadership Consultant then as Director of Chapter Services. At AEPi International, Grant worked with 130 campuses in six countries. In addition to working with NC State Fraternity and Sorority Life, Grant will be serving as a Graduate Assistant for Duke University’s Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life and will be pursuing a Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration through State. When not doing work or studying you can find Grant playing sports, watching college basketball, listening to music or going on a hike.

Background: A New Jersey native, Hannah graduated from Barton College in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Middle School Education with a concentration in Language Arts.During her undergraduate experience, she served as the Theta Omega chapter of Delta Zeta as a Greek Sing Chair and Alumni Relations Chair. She has spent three summers interning with the division of student affairs at Barton College and is now excited to make the move to Raleigh to begin her Masters in Higher Education Administration. Hannah will serve as the graduate assistant for the office of New Student Programs in addition to her role as a Chapter Resident Director.



Tyler Allen

Sigma Phi Epsilon (H7)

Background: Tyler graduated from NC State with a Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Plant Biology and a minor in genetics. He is currently a Ph.D. student in the Comparative Biomedical Sciences program. Tyler is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and served as an Office Associate for the Multicultural Student Affairs department, a representative on the Student Center’s Board of Directors and President of his undergraduate chapter. He is originally from Houston, Texas, but has lived in N.C. for the past nine years. Tyler enjoys tasting different types of bread (croissants are his favorite), reading and mentoring.



Khoi Tran

Kappa Sigma (H11)

Background: Khoi graduated from Winthrop University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics & Political Science and a double minor in Business Administration & Social Sciences. During his undergraduate tenure, he joined Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity where he served various positions from new member education to being the Vice President of the chapter. He also served as a VP of Greek Relations and President for the Interfraternity Council. Khoi will begin his Masters of Education in Higher Education Administration right here at NC State. In addition to being a Chapter Residence Director, he will serve as the University Housing Graduate Assistant for Recruitment, Selection, and Training.
