Dr. Tim Luckadoo has served as the Vice Provost for Campus Life and had responsibility for the oversight of Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) for almost 20 years. He is set to retire this spring, and with that announcement comes plans to provide for continued guidance and leadership of the Department. Dr. Mike Mullen, Vice Chancellor and Dean of the Division of Academic and Student Affairs (DASA) has decided to re-align the Department of Fraternity and Sorority Life with Student Development, Health and Wellness as of March 1. Now reporting to Dr. Lisa Zapata, Vice Provost for Student Development, Health and Wellness, the Department is part of a consortium of professionals dedicated to promoting the academic, psychological, physical, leadership, and professional development of students through a continuum of integrated services and programs. Student Development, Health and Wellness is also home to Student Conduct, Student Involvement, Student Media, University Recreation, CSLEPS, and a host of other partners that can contribute to the mission of Fraternity and Sorority Life through strategic partnerships. We are excited about this move and know that this shift represents a holistic focus on the fraternity experience.
Fraternity and Sorority Life will continue to partner with University Housing to provide seamless transition from residence halls to chapter houses. FSL will continue to manage their inventory of university-owned properties and oversee the development of Greek Village.
Fraternity and Sorority Life will forever be in the debt of Dr. Luckadoo. We thank him for his service and leadership and know that Greek Village will be a lasting legacy of his commitment to the fraternity experience at NC State.
